José Amorim Mineiro was sentenced to death on 31 May 1945 by a French court in Ariége, accused of spying on behalf of the Germans.
In the documentation found in the Historical and Diplomatic Archive in Lisbon, no further details are given about the crimes he may have committed.
The Portuguese appealed the sentence and in August of the same year the sentence was commuted and replaced by forced labor for life.
