One of the engines was destroyed during a fight with three german Ju88’s over the Bay of Biscay.

The crew throw away all they could trough the hatches trying to make the airplane lighter and were able to reach one area near Grândola where the aicraft could not mantain the hight.

The aircraft caught fire as soon as they landed. The crew was able to leave it unhurt and was interned in Caldas da Rainha until repatriation on January 30, 1944.
