Wells was repatriated on January 17, 1943 in a BOAC flight to Bristol. The rest of the crew followed him on April 5, also in a BOAC flight trough Ireland.

The aircraft was interned and integrated in the  AERONÁUTICA MILITAR with the registration H1. Later, as a civilian airplane, it had the registration CS-EHA.
