They had to land because of engine problems.

After they called the Embassy they were escorted by the police to the Parque Palácio Pension. The escort disappeared after this. One Embassy officer arrived some time after and delivered civilian clothing and money.

The crew was repatriated on November 21, in a BOAC flight trough Ireland.
