Because of bad weather they were unable to land in Gibraltar and turned back and they finnaly landed in Tavira.

The crew destroyed secret document's and equipment, but not the plane, following order's received in England. They were sent to Lisbon on September 2, and a few days latter they where sent home.

The aircraft might have been integrated in the Portuguese  Aeronáutica Militar and latter returned to the RAF.
