The aircraft had engine problems and landed in Lavos, near Figueira da Foz.

The crew was taken by the Fiscal Guard to their post in Figueira da Foz where the British Consul took care of them. The Portuguese authorities freed them under his authority. 

They were sent home on September 01, 1942.
